Every nation has its own uniqueness in language, dress, food habits, style of speech, style of behavior, sports, social values, thoughts, songs etc. These are the elements of a culture. Culture is the uniqueness or recognition of a nation. Our culture is also old and traditional.
We have different social values, language, customs, religion, profession music, art, literature etc. which are part and parcel of our nation. But in culture we are losing our uniqueness. Then these songs are also losing their appeal as the new generation does not like folk songs, zari, saree, bhatiali etc.
We are now fond of band music, Hindi and English songs and music. Our lifestyle is also changing due to the direct influence of western culture. Western culture has both good and bad effects in our society. We can get acquainted with the people, history and culture of the entire western world.
We can do comparative study of our culture with other cultures which helps in enriching our own culture. We can adopt good things from western culture. The disadvantages are not shortlisted at all.
This has already affected our youth. They are forgetting their own cultural heritage. They try to imitate the vulgar aspects of Western culture. If immediate action is not taken, our own culture will disappear.
It is impossible to abandon Western influence in this global world but we can be more careful to save our own heritage and culture. We will try to adopt what is good from Western culture and abandon what is bad in them.
