Its importance and significance in our national life is immense. The Shaheed Minar is a symbol of our national aspirations. It was built with the aim of centralizing the Language Movement as a symbol of our liberation. The Shaheed Minar speaks of the hopes and aspirations of the people.

The basic horizontal and vertical forms of the Shaheed Minar express the concept of Bengali solidarity and unity for their national identity. The vertical lines express inner strength and the four columns on either side of the central structure reflect the balance and harmony of a unified position.

The Shaheed Minar stands as a synthesis of all the aspirations of Bengali identity and nationalism.
